| What is DPI? |
DPI is an absolutely safe procedure if it is done in a professional setting being in a clinic or salon. A special device is used to implant the micro pigments at a safe depth of 0.07mm into the epidermal layer of skin. |
| Are the pigments safe for sensitive skin? |
The pigment used is a pure vegetable extracts imported from New York. It is FDA tested and approved and also iron oxide that has been used by the cosmetic industry for years and is an ingredient in candy. This makes it suitable for even the most sensitive skin. A patch test is available at no charge at for any individual who has a concern. |
| Where can DPI be applied? |
DPI can be applied to eyeliner, eyebrows, lip-liner, lip-color, beauty marks, and minor facial spot camouflage. Rhonda will first shape and design the brows, lip or eye-liner on your face; then choose the perfect shade with you prior the actual procedure to ensure your satisfaction. How long does each of the procedure take? |
| Approximately one to two and half hours each. |
Is the procedure painful? |
| The best available topical anesthetic is applied to the area to minimize sensation. You may feel a little pricking at the initial contact; otherwise, the rest of the procedure is virtually painless. |
How long does it take to heal? Will I need to take time off from work? |
| The area is sensitive to touch only for the first 24 hours. You can resume your daily activities or work immediately after the procedure. There is little to no swelling on procedures of brows and lip liners. However a slight swelling may occur only if a rather thick eyeliner is applied. Total healing takes approximately 4 to 5 days. |
How long does the color last? |
| That depends on skin type, skin quality, oil content and maturity of the skin. It also depends how dark the shade you used, on average it lasts approximately from 1 to 5 years for lips and 5 - 10 years on brows and eyeliners. |
Is DPI the same as tattooing? |
| No. The principle is similar but the instruments, purity of color, depth of penetration and technique are all different. In DPI, the shapes and designs of the make-ups are uniquely created just for you for a soft natural look. In tattooing, patterns are rendered by stencils, result of harsh "painted on look." |
Are they're any health risks regarding transmittable diseases? |
| Absolutely not. All materials used are brand new and disposable to ensure safety. Therefore it is important to have the procedure done in a reputable setting where high standard of medical precautions are practiced. However, if you have a history of cold sores, you need to inform Rhonda prior the procedure of permanent lip liner. In that case she will strongly suggest in taking a cold sore medication 3-4 days prior to your appointment to help prevent a break out and assure success. |
